INTERREG III IT-CH PRO-ALP "Agrialpeggi"

Within the scope of the Interreg “PRO ALP IT-CH”, Regione Piemonte draw up a pilot project called “Pro Alp promotion and exploitation of agro-tourism activities at summer pastures in the mountains”.

This enterprise, built up by four project’s forms, is aimed to develop mountain economy, through the promotion of the farms’ multi-activities, and of an ecological tourism model, in order to exploit, qualify and structure the agro-tourism activities network, located on the Alpine strip at the Piedmont’s farthest north, including the Mountain Community Antigorio Divedro Formazza and Swiss neighbouring territories.

The project forms foresaw:
- creating a vademecum of the agro-tourism activities at summer pastures in the mountains;
- organising a training course in order to optimize and diffuse the agro-tourism activities at summer pastures in the mountains;
- carrying out an agro-tourism itinerary at a summer pasture in the mountains on some pilot-reality;
- creating a web site to diffuse the obtained results and products developed through the pilot-enterprise.

The two first forms were defined and developed in order to improve the quality standard of the agro-tourism existing welcome and also to incite and encourage, through a specific training course, the development of new tourism activities aimed to vary the mountain’s agricultural activities.

The creation of an itinerary linking the existing receptive structures, the promotion, and the local information amplified by the web site, are all tools in tourist’s service. They will make it easy find the way which leads tourists to the place where they could eat, spend the night or simply buy Alpine summer pasture products directly from the producers.

Because of the achieved positive results, the pilot enterprise calls itself “a model of good practice to diffuse the multi-activities of farmers of the mountain areas and to promote a rural tourism at high tenability”, that can be applied to other realities of the Alpine arch.
