Introduction
Within the scope of the INTEREG IIIA IT-CH Communitary enterprise Program, following the example of the Interreg III Acotra Program carried out by Italy and France, Regione Piemonte put in place the PRO ALP IT-CH Project, in order to exploit the summer mountain grazing and the mountain cheese productions. It foresees – among its own initiatives –the achievement of three project forms, in order to bring out agri-tourism activities at summer pastures in the mountains.
The foreseen activities are: carrying out an agri-tourism itinerary at a summer pasture in the mountains on some pilot-reality; a training professional course in order to optimize and diffuse the agri-tourism activities at summer pastures in the mountains; a vademecum of the agri-tourism activities at summer pastures in the mountains.
The common purpose of those actions is sustaining and promoting the many activities of the farms which practice the summer mountain grazing, in order to rise, together with traditional breeding-farm, complementary activities in the tourist sector, helping the farmers increase their own income and encouraging them to stay in the territory.
The vademecum starts from the cooperation between the Councillorship for the mountains and forests development, public-works, ground defence of Regione Piemonte and Consorzio Rinascita della Montagna, the no profit organisation made up of hotel keepers, farmers and craftsmen living and working in the territory of the Mountain Community Antigorio Divedro Formazza, located at Crodo (VB). |
